Dalí, the endless enigma

From 26 January, Phoenix des Lumières will be showing works by Salvador Dalí and Antoni Gaudí as well as the contemporary short exhibition "3 Movements" - all included in one ticket.

Phoenix des Lumières, GERMANY

Salvador Dalí's work is a spectacle! You weigh up between fairy tales, hallucinations and dreams. What you shouldn't miss on canvas is almost even more fantastic in our new exhibition Dalí: The Endless Enigma.

Throughout his life and to this day, Salvador Dalí was considered one of the most dazzling figures in contemporary art. His twirled mustache is just as iconic as his painting “The Persistence of Memory” with the world-famous, dissolving clocks.

From January 26th, visitors can now experience more than 60 years of work by the Spanish artist: from Cubism to Surrealism and Futurism to his later Realism, guests of the exhibition embark on a thematic tour through metaphysical landscapes and imaginative worlds.

The works, which are originally distributed in museums around the world, are projected onto floors and walls in Dortmund. Accompanying archive images show Dalí himself as well as his fascination for his wife Gala, who was considered both a muse and an artistic colleague. The exhibition is accompanied musically by an atmospheric medley by the British rock band Pink Floyd.

Immerse yourself in the surrealist works of this great artist and lose yourself in his fantastic world. Even 30 years after his death, Dalí's work is still a welcome escape from the familiar here and now. Presented like you've never seen it before.

The immersive exhibition was realized in collaboration with the Fundacio Gala-Salvador Dalí.
